[It's a nice afternoon on the beach. Adam's taking this day to relax since no job's come up recently. He was thinking of visiting his old man, but apparently good ol' dad was taking a hike up in the mountains with some other friends. How strangely energetic of him for his age.

For Adam, it's times like these that make him feel a bit... isolated. He had very few normal friends to begin with. His friends were witches, wizards, and other strange beings, but it wasn't as if he could call them out on short notice and go, "Let's hang out!"

Worrisome thoughts or not, he always found the salty sea breeze, the sound of the waves, and the warmth of the setting sun enough to calm his mind and just appreciate what was around him. He parked his motorcycle and is out on the sand with a folding chair, four cans of beer and a classic guitar on his lap.

It's been a while since he played any tunes.]

[Weird. He used to be much more cheerful back when he was younger instead of quiet and sorta broody]

Hm. I'm just naturally calm. Moreso now than when I was younger.

Do you have a wild side under all that stoic?

I kind of let the wild side out during jobs rather than now. I appreciate quiet moments.

Ah. That's kind of a shame.

I'd like to see your wild side.

[ Mostly she'd like to take him home, but he doesn't seem the type. ]

I've learned to keep that to myself unless I want to let that out otherwise.

All right. What gets you to want to let it out? Aside from jobs or whatever.

Well, just talking to other people is nice. I don't keep that many friends because of my profession, but the ones I do get to know, gives me more of a reason to do a better job.

If anything ever happened to them... yeah, I'll get wild.

[A beat. Then a nod.]

Not all the time, but yes.

The people I like are precious after all.

[ A laugh, though there's not a lot of humor in it. ] I guess I'll keep that in mind.
