[It's a beautiful autumn evening. The sun is dipping below the horizon, the sky is mixed with hues of violet, reds, and blues. The leaves are browning and the air is crisper and chillier, a great contrast with the great heatwave of summer.

There's no one out during the after hours in this part of the city. The park while quiet and full of quaint charms has been avoided recently after seven unexplained disappearances. Certain officials have advised the locals to stay inside.

Dancing in the moonlight,
Everybody's feeling warm and bright!

[Lien is walking past the warning signs and doing a little twirl all by herself. For someone who works on cold cases that usually involve murder in the first place, she sure is way too optimistic. She stops singing and calls to her companion that is not Jonah...]

Isn't the fresh air great? Man, I feel so energized!!

[He's given her a lot. She needs to give up the things that bind her as well.]

Hard to believe our first meeting would end up leading to all of this huh?

Well, it did start with you kissing me out of nowhere and then us busting a drug ring, so... you know this isn't too much of a stretch.

Yeah, you're right. I shouldn't even be batting an eye at something like this. It's a night of firsts though, I'll tell you that.

[blindknight]

Tell me about it. I've never fought a demon before.

[ Never had someone he couldn't stand to lose before, either. ]

And I never got possessed before. I'm gonna have to find a way to prevent that in the future since it seems I'm easy to latch onto.

Could you? That would be awesome! I wouldn't have anyone back in my commune worrying too much that way.

I think so. I mean, I dunno. I just feel like it's something I should be able to do.

[ When she says that, he feels like there's no end to the things he can accomplish. For the first time in a long time, he feels like there's hope.

He gives her hand another squeeze. ]

[SHE SOUNDS EXTREMELY NERVOUS]

Oh, I'm not saying I don't like this! I mean! I'm just saying that this is the longest time I've held hands with a guy... Not that I haven't held hands with other people-- No, not like this though!

I... Lien, look. I've got issues. I've got issues literally up to my eyeballs. I know you kind of have your own stuff going on, too. So, whatever is, um, happening here is gonna take some time and a lot of work.

... But you're good for me. If all that's going to happen right now is we're gonna hold hands for a while, I'm okay with that.

[She calms down and seems to breathe a sigh of relief.]

This. [Holds up their hands with their fingers intertwined.] It's a good a start as any.
