[It's a nice afternoon on the beach. Adam's taking this day to relax since no job's come up recently. He was thinking of visiting his old man, but apparently good ol' dad was taking a hike up in the mountains with some other friends. How strangely energetic of him for his age.

For Adam, it's times like these that make him feel a bit... isolated. He had very few normal friends to begin with. His friends were witches, wizards, and other strange beings, but it wasn't as if he could call them out on short notice and go, "Let's hang out!"

Worrisome thoughts or not, he always found the salty sea breeze, the sound of the waves, and the warmth of the setting sun enough to calm his mind and just appreciate what was around him. He parked his motorcycle and is out on the sand with a folding chair, four cans of beer and a classic guitar on his lap.

It's been a while since he played any tunes.]

Right, right.

[And suddenly, there's a louder vibrating noise- his own cell phone. He picks it up and opens up to look at the screen.]

... Do you like paintings? I need a second opinion here.

I... what?

[imperviously]

My dad painted this. He wants some feedback.

[Before she can voice any other objections, he holds up his phone so she can see the screen.

It's a picture of a painting and actually a rather beautiful one to boot. It's a sunset over a lake surrounded dark shadowy trees. There are dots of stars in the purple and blue hues of the sky where twilight is about to settle in and it reflects across the lack where on the shore, the rocks are meticulously painted. Someone's taken great pains to work on it and it shows.]

Er... It's really beautiful.

Good enough. He's been hiking up in the mountains and brought along his painting materials so he'll be glad to know it was worth the effort.

He's really talented.

And enthusiastic. I find it hard to keep up sometimes.

Sounds like quite the guy.

Yeah. He's pretty important to me.

[ She's quiet a moment, watching him. ]

... You wanna do dinner?

[imperviously]

... Well, I guess that might be nice. [Standing up]

Got any preferences?

Eh, you like seafood? [ call it the otter in her, but she loves fish ]

That's fine. Being near the sea is kinda giving me a hankering for some seafood.

I know a good place nearby.

Give me a second to get changed. I'll be right back.

Right. I'll just pack up a bit.

Although... Your ride or mine?

[youotterknow]

Er, my car is kind of a mess, so...

[imperviously]

You might wanna wear the jacket then. I have a bike.

... Hot.

Oh, right. I was gonna change. One minute. [ OKAY, off to go grab her change of clothes and... well, change. ]

[... Girls are weird. He'll just wait then!]

[ She had a stupid, snippy moment earlier, but it's hard to stay mad at the mental image of him on a motorcycle. Hurr.

She's back in a bit, having donned a pair of jeans and a t-shirt that has most definitely seen better days. ]

Ready?

[imperviously]

[If that's what she's looking forward too, then say no more. He's standing in front of his bike and holds out his jacket to her and... hey seems to have two helmets already how useful thank you hammerspace bag from best witch friend.]

Need help climbing up or you're good?

[ Okay, even that image is hella sexy. She takes the jacket and the helmet with a nod of thanks. ]

I've got it. This isn't my first ride on a motorcycle, you know.

[He nods and climbs on.]

Hold on tight then.

[ And hold on tight she does- right after she gives him directions to the restaurant. It's a little hole-in-the-wall place down the beach a couple of miles. She loops her arms around his waist and rests her head on his shoulder. ]

[Are girls koalas or something He gets there pretty quickly, but he does make the ride leisurely and relaxing. When they get there, he parks it nearby]
