[Advanced Placement tests are just around the corner and that means Amelia has to come home a little later than usual due to holding review sessions at school. It was one of the few times in her life where she felt like getting a migraine from having to go over lines from Paradise Lost or the symbols and language of Moby Dick, or the extensive relationship between the characters in Wuthering Heights.

Just ENOUGH already! She wanted to go home and rest peacefully as usual! But when walking up to her door and about to turn the knob, it hits her that going home isn't 'the usual' anymore.

For the first time in a long while she knows someone is waiting for her.

Not letting her tired and irate mood get to her, she enters.]

I'm home!

[ Warren is lounging on the couch with a book draped over his chest. Nope totally wasn't napping no.

There's also a plate of food covered in plastic wrap waiting for her on the kitchen table. ]

Another long day?

[recluserose]

[... This is so nice. She sets down her book bags and closes the door behind her.]

The kids are cramming and it shows. Still, they all need to relax or else their stress will get to me.

[spellbent]

[ He gets up, placing the book on the table, coming up behind her to rub her shoulders. ]

I think it's already getting to you.

[recluserose]

[That was and wasn't expected at the same time. She takes off her glasses as if to inspect them although it's hard not to focus on his movement and the feeling on her shoulders]

It's showing that clearly?

[spellbent]

Not really. [ he plants a light kiss on the back of her neck ] But I like to think I'm observant.

[recluserose]

[Ah.

She turns around rubbing the spot where he kissed her neck in a sheepish fashion]

Well, I guess since we're living together I finally have someone who's around to read my moods.

[spellbent]

[ grin! ] Other than the local cats, anyway.

[recluserose]

I guess they've been keeping you company while I'm away?

[spellbent]

Every once in a while. I don't think I have quite your patience when dealing with them, though.

[recluserose]

That's alright. They need to know when to back off.

[spellbent]

Ah, yes. I've... snapped at them a couple times. [ still has this... temper problem ]

[recluserose]

Hm. That could be a problem in the later future. And I would prefer to stay on their good side.

[spellbent]

I know, and I'm sorry.

[recluserose]

[She gives him a small smile and leans her head against his chest with her hands on her arms]

It's alright. Thank you for apologizing though.

[spellbent]

[ He slips his arms around her, resting his chin on the top of her head ]

I don't want to ruin anything for you.

[recluserose]

If you do, I'll be sure to let you know.

[So... loving...]

[spellbent]

[ He holds her a bit tighter, planting a kiss on the top of her head ]

You are an endless well of patience, Amelia.

[recluserose]

It's a constant practice.

[It feels... good being held, being affectionate, being close... close...

She lets go of him letting out a sigh.]

I think I'll have some of the dinner you made.

[spellbent]

Help yourself. [ he waves a hand at the table ] I hope you don't mind that I've already eaten.

[recluserose]

Not at all. [She goes to take her meal, but first...]

Warren?

[spellbent]

Yes?

[recluserose]

[There's a pause, but she stands up a bit straighter to place a kiss on his lips. It's not urgent, but rather slow and lingering. She pulls away with a somewhat inscrutable smile.]

Thank you for being here for me.

[spellbent]

... Any time. [ he leans in for another kiss, this one lingering as well ]

[She returns it quite willingly, but doesn't let it draw out for long since she... don't get carried away, not yet-- but if not now WHEN? Later? When's later

has a lot of thoughts running through her mind |D]

I might turn in early for tonight. You know, I had a busy day and all.

[spellbent]

[ He quirks a brow ]

All right.

[ a beat ] Are you okay?
